I really enjoyed making this scrappy quilt using Mission Valley cottons from my stash. It's been waiting for months to be quilted.. Now that I have my new Innova longarm quilting machine it was one of the first of 23 quilt tops to be quilted and finished!
I couldn't resist adding a scrappy binding to this "manish" scrappy quilt. Watch for a tutorial for this fun binding coming soon!
This is it! The finished quilt! The first of many, soon to come! This was a fast and easy quilt to put together. It's a slice and dice kind of project and I did alot of mixing it up to get this fun result! I'm very pleased with the finished look.
This blog is all about vintage to couture sewing and a little bit more! I love to design and play with fabrics and all of the possibilities that brings. This blog will let you see what is happening in my workroom. You'll see the fabrics, the techniques and the "what if's" that I am exploring. I will be working on everything from couture jackets to re-purposed clothing and textiles into new life and new looks. come along and take this ride with me... explore...discover.... and enjoy!
I studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. I have set up two blogs. One for my love of designing clothing and accessories and the other for my passion for quilting. I bring to both my years of work with textiles in surface design, couture sewing and always ask "what if" when starting a new project. If you see something that you would like to know more about just ask...I would be happy to answer question and post tutorials. My clothing is everything from couture to vintage to recycled and repurposed. My quilts range from tradition to art to modern. I don't limit my quilts to fabrics from the quilt shop and love to mix the new hot quilt fabrics with vintage and non traditional fabrics like rayons and silks. HOpe you enjoy the ride!
